Children's Disease Information

Since birth, Nhu Y has faced difficulties caused by her congenital upper limb deformity. The absence of the radius bone in both arms affects even the simplest daily activities, making them much harder for her to perform. Holding a pencil and writing in class requires tremendous effort, yet Nhu Y remains diligent and determined to attend school and keep up with her studies just like her classmates. On days when she cannot finish copying lessons in class, she borrows her friends’ notebooks to complete them at home.

 

Nhu Y’s family faces significant financial hardship. Her father works as a farmer and raises cattle, while her mother collects recyclable materials to earn additional income. Their unstable earnings are barely enough to support the family and their three children, with Nhu Y being the eldest.

 

Holding back tears, her mother shared:

“Every time I watch my daughter trying so hard to do everything on her own with her imperfect hands, my heart aches. My greatest wish is to give her the opportunity to undergo surgery so that her future will be less burdened by these challenges. We do not ask for much—only understanding and a little support so that our daughter may have stronger, more functional hands.”
