Feb 28, 2017 - 08:07 pmThanks to the timely support from The Children Of Viet Nam Charitable Fund, Bao Ngoc was given the chance to begin treatment with intra-arterial chemotherapy in May 2025 — the final treatment option that offered hope of controlling the tumors and preserving the light in her eyes.
At that time, Bao Ngoc’s condition was already very severe: her left eye was classified as Group E, the most advanced stage of the disease, while her right eye was classified as Group D. Throughout nearly a year of treatment, she bravely endured 11 sessions of intra-arterial chemotherapy, facing both pain and hope along the way, while still managing to preserve vision in both eyes.
By April 2026, despite the tremendous efforts of the doctors, together with the unwavering support of The Children Of Viet Nam Charitable Fund and generous donors, the tumor in her left eye could no longer be controlled as the disease had progressed too far. To prevent the cancer from spreading and to save her life, the doctors had to make the heartbreaking decision to surgically remove her LEFT eye.
Although Bao Ngoc had to sacrifice one eye, hope still remains with her — the tumor in her RIGHT eye has been successfully controlled. She still has the chance to see the light, continue growing up, go to school, and experience the world through her own eye.
