At just 2 years old, a small accident caused severe burns to Trần Diễm My due to embers, resulting in serious injuries to both her hands and legs. The burn on her hand extended from the elbow down to the hand, leaving both hands curled and completely deformed. Her fingers were contracted, without nails, and unable to move normally. My’s family works as hired laborers on plantations, and despite their difficult circumstances, from the time she was burned until she turned 7, her family consistently took her to Children's Hospital for treatment. By 2020, My had undergone 7 surgeries. However, after a long period, the family's finances gradually became depleted, and they could no longer afford her treatment. Fortunately, a teacher nearby who knew of My’s situation introduced her to the Children’s Steps Charity Fund, offering new hope for her to continue receiving treatment and rehabilitation.
