Unluckily, her family is very poor, and could not afford the operation. So it was great that the Fund became a driving force throughout her treatment journey.

“While were feeling hopeless until we receive enthusiastic support from the Fund as well FV staff. They cared for us like family members” – That is a quote from a letter sent by Ms Lieu to the Fund. She has a 2-year-old child, Trong Hieu who had a congenital cleft lip and palate. 

He was supported by the Fund for two major surgeries: cleft lip surgery in December 2018 and cleft palate surgery in October 2019. All his treatment expenses including hospital fees, medical examination, surgery, post-operative care, travel expenses, the accommodation are fully supported by the Fund. Trong Hieu now has a handsome face like other babies with a lovely bright smile. 

The handwriting of Trong Hieu’s mother touched all of us on the days nearing the Tet holiday. What she wrote is also the goal that we try to achieve: giving a helping hand for unlucky children and bringing opportunities for them to have a healthier and happier life.

“… Thank you for establishing the Fund so that my children and other unlucky children have a chance to change their lives. That brings boundless happiness, bright futures and helps them be more confident to enter their future life… “
