Mai Thai Binh is the eldest child in the family. After his mother's marriage broke down, she decided to raise her children alone. Because there was little work in the countryside, his mother went to work at a family diner in Vung Tau, so Binh and his two siblings lived with his grandparents.

According to the doctor, it is possible that since childhood, he has had aortic valve regurgitation, but because his family did not have the conditions, the disease was not detected and now, when he is 15 years old, it has progressed seriously. His family background was poor, the money her mother had saved had to be spent on medical treatment for the previous accident. Binh's surgery required a large amount of money, but his mother had no means to manage it.
